Each zip file contains both 32 and 64-bit version of Mmedia either in the statically linked version or the dynamically linked one. Use the plugin auto-install interface and try to install first the DL variant of this plugin. if TC display an error message then you are missing MFC9 DLL so install the statically linked version of this plugin.

Description

This plugin was written for Christian Ghisler's Total Commander (formerly known as Windows Commander).

This viewer is able to display Id3tag v1 and v2 while playing MP3 file
But, as it uses an extension of Windows Media Player, it can also play all media file "Windows Media Player" may recognize (i.e. : MP3pro file,  M3U playlist, all directshow codec, ...) You must before add the extension in the "mmedia.ini" file and load the appropriate codecs.


Recommanded Installation

4 versions are included in this zipped file
- wlx_media32 and wlx_media64 are statically linked to MFC, size is larger but no DLL is needed
- wlx_media32_DL and wlx_media64_DL are dynamically linked to MFC, size is half the weight but 3 DLLs from MFC9.0 are needed (MSVCP90.dll, MFC90.dll, MSVCR90.dll)
Use the plugin auto-install interface, ie just open the zip file in TC
Try to install first the DL variant of this plugin, if TC display an error message then you are missing MFC9 DLL so install the statically linked version of this plugin

- you can add or remove extension in "mmedia.ini"
two lines are provided
    MMext is used for playing video files or visualization with audio files
    MP3ext is used to display id3tag or Media information

Adding new format to the supported list of Mmedia

( for all media, jump to the Reg file point after adding directshow filter)



RealMedia :

- go to http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Real_Alternative.htm
 - download realtime Alternative
- install realMedia directshow splitter if you have already realmedia codec installed, otherwise install realmedia codec too
- add rm, ra, rpm, ram, rmvb, rpx, smi, smil, rt, rp at the "MMEXT" line in mmedia.ini
RealAudio (.ra .rpm), RealMedia (.rm .ram .rmvb .rpx .smi .smil), RealText (.rt), ReadPix (.rp) formats
- at the first played file, check “don’t ask ..." box and press yes
your file is played


Quicktime :

- go to http://www.free-codecs.com/download/quicktime_alternative.htm
- download Quicktime Alternative
- install quicktime directshow filter ( if you have already quicktime codec installed, otherwise install quicktime codec too
- add mov, qt at the "MMEXT" line in mmedia.ini
    may be other quicktime format may be compatible
- at the first played file, check “don’t ask ..." box and press yes
your file is played


Ogg Vorbis :

- go to http://www.free-codecs.com/download/ogg_directshow_filters.htm
 - download the Ogg DirectShow filter and install it
- add ogg at the "MMEXT" line in mmedia.ini
- at the first played file, check “don’t ask ..." box and press yes


MusePack :

- add mpc at the "MMEXT" line in mmedia.ini

- add flv to the "MMEXT" line in mmedia.ini
- at the first played file, check “don’t ask ..." box and press yes


Other format :

- FFDSHOW can decode numbers of different format, after install it just try to add extension to the “MMEXT” line in mmedia.ini
- go to https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=173941
- download last version of ffdshow (generic one) and install it

If music doesn’t automatically start use the following registry file

- Create a REG file
- Copy the following 4 lines in a text editor, change extension (mpc) by the appropriate one, save with extension .reg, install it
